Last weekend we attended our yearly Odegand-fest. Again we discovered some very promising performing artists.
Although I try not to bother taking out my camera in order to let myself
be carried away by what happens on stage, I couldn't resist taking
these pictures of the multicultural (from both sides of the Atlantic) ASKANYI. 4 singers taking turns on the lead in front of an amazing
stringquartet. We're bound to hear more from them as next month they
release their first CD.
Odegand ended with a unique dance performance of West Side Story in a
choreography of Sidi! Larbi Cherkaoui. It was raining very hard that
evening but miraculously it stopped exactly when the spectacle had to
start, so with a little delay to enable a whole bunch of courageous
youngster to dry the dance-stage we were immersed in the fairy tale
world of modern Romeo & Juliet on the Graslei. Here is an attempt to
rendering some of the best moments of that evening. Click the pictures to see more.
